BRACHYCHITON
BRACHYCHITON
The Kurrajongs are trees occurring from the dry inland to the rainforests. They are all deciduous for a short period in spring when many bell shaped flowers replace the leaves in a colourful mantle that covers the tree.
They are particularly conspicuous in the rainforest and when used as street trees or specimen in gardens.
A carpet of spent flowers covers the ground below for long periods.
The famous bottle tree occurs in the drier part of Queensland. They are featured as street trees in the Queensland town of Roma for instance and large specimens can be seen in the Sydney Botanical Garden.
