QLD School Holidays (Spring)
Family adventures every day through the spring school holidays, plus World Rivers Day (Sun 27 Sept), Badge Making with artist Keturah Tracey (Fri 2 Oct), World Animal Day (Sun 4 Oct) and the King's Birthday public holiday (Mon 5 Oct).
A Right Royal Adventure: King's Birthday at Fairhill
All the Fairhill Adventures all morning, plus from 1.30pm celebrate with Right Royal Picnics, make a Nature Crown and join the Crowning of the G.O.A.T. Mini Baby Goat! Make your own nature crown: recycled card bands, crayons, leaf and flower shapes and fallen leaves at the craft station from 1.30pm. Make it, wear it, then join the parade. The Royal Garden Quest: every family collects a quest sheet at admission and follows the clues through the gardens, the Wild Nature Realm and the Farmyard. Find the dragon, visit the kingdom's smallest farmers, discover a plant fit for a crown, locate the frog hotel and count Fairhill's royal goats. Hand in your completed sheet for a Royal Fairhill Explorer stamp or sticker. The Crowning of the G.O.A.T.: the Rangers lead the goats on a short Royal Promenade, followed by children wearing their nature crowns. Each goat is introduced with a playful royal title before the Crowning, and supervised goat photos and cuddles round it off, subject to the goats' willingness as always. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning and the Gardens Café is open all day.
Stories to Keep: Weekly Writing Group
Stories to Keep is a relaxed weekly writing group run by Sunshine Coast writer Sarah Vercoe, hosted at Fairhill from Tuesday 6 October 2026. It is for anyone with memories, stories and experiences they would like to put into words: a space to slow down, remember, reflect and put something of yourself on paper. Each session opens with a writing prompt to get the words flowing, then time to write. Come along to a single session or make it a regular part of your week. There is no need to be working towards a memoir or a finished piece; the aim is simply to write and see where it leads. Sessions run 9:30am to 11:30am every Tuesday in the gardens. Places are booked directly with Sarah, and the Gardens Cafe is open before and after if you would like to make a morning of it.

Everything about Fairhill was wonderful - staff at reception, farmyard staff, cafe staff….super friendly and happy! The selection of native plants for sale was wonderful and the gift shop had lots of unique gift options. Coffee was a godsend by mid morning 🤣 and the gardens were peaceful to wonder through and appreciate the calm and peacefulness.
