QLD School Holidays (Spring)
Family adventures every day through the spring school holidays, plus World Rivers Day (Sun 27 Sept), Badge Making with artist Keturah Tracey (Fri 2 Oct), World Animal Day (Sun 4 Oct) and the King's Birthday public holiday (Mon 5 Oct).
Celebrate World Rivers Day at Turtle Lake
World Rivers Day falls on the fourth Sunday of September, a worldwide celebration of waterways and everything that lives in and around them. On Sunday 27 September, meet us at Turtle Lake at 12 o'clock! Find out more about the ducks, kingfishers, platypus, turtles and water dragons who call our River and Lake home. Take part in the Turtle Lake Expedition & Scavenger Hunt to win prizes! The Mini Goats Promenade makes its daily walk down to the water too, so the goats will be marking the day with you. And with the spring school holidays in full swing, it is a very easy Sunday to say yes to. Fairhill Farmyard Adventures runs through the morning, baby goat cuddles are at 12.30pm in the Kids' Barn, and the Gardens Café is open all day.
School Holiday Badge Making with Keturah Tracey
A hands-on badge-making morning for children in the last week of the spring school holidays, with local fine artist and art teacher Keturah Tracey. Drop in any time between 10am and 12pm, design and make your own badges to wear home, and all the materials are provided. Ages 5 and up, with parents or carers staying to supervise. $20 for three badges, paid on the day. RSVP or enquiries to Keturah at keturahartdesigns@gmail.com or on Instagram @keturah.artdesigns. Entry to the gardens is with a Day Pass or Membership, and the Farmyard Adventures, the G.O.A.T. Playbarn and the Little Sprouts play space all run as usual, so make a morning of it.
