Dining at Fairhill can feel more like a trip to the local plant nursery with an eclectic range of natives and complementary tropicals, often rare and specific to this area. There is a variety of unique dining spaces, from the beer garden and terrace outdoors under shade from the tree canopy and sun umbrellas, to the many interior spaces.
The Beer Garden may become the new hero attraction, made for long Sunday lunches or a casual anytime catchup, where the open-air atmosphere and garden setting gives the space an uncrowded feel.
Inside the original Longhouse, there’s a peaceful, heritage feel. Original brick paving, worn timbers and earthy tones create intimate all-weather settings. The Longhouse features a range of seating areas including the Fern House alongside the Terrace, the Longhouse Atrium, and even Private Dining in the restored Longhouse Gallery.
The Rotunda Cafe provides more under cover seating, with cooling overhead fans and cool terracotta tiles.
True paddock-to-plate dining is at the heart, with Fairhill sourcing locally-grown and artisan ingredients, along with craft beer from the Sunshine Coast's breweries. This is showcased in the stand-out offerings of the Bamboo Park pasture raised heritage pork on the spit roast, marinaded and basted in bush-tucker spices, along with delicious local sides.
Local suppliers include the family’s nearby Bamboo Park for pork and also pasture raised Sunshine Rich Eggs, plus Phat Wag’s famous Wagu beef, Maleny Dairies milk and cream, locally grown teas and tisanes, Ten Acres sourdough, along with homegrown herbs and bush tucker. In house chefs make Fairhill’s own clotted cream to the family’s original Devonshire recipe, strawberry and bush-tucker preserves, relishes, sparkling teas, scones, cakes and pastries.
Fairhill’s Courtyard Cafe Bar Restaurant is open 8am-2.30pm Thursdays through Sundays (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays).
Fairhill’s Spit Pig Hog Roast provides for a more leisurely time, with the bar and cafe continuing open until gardens and nursery close at 4.30pm.
